Neighborhood grocery guide
A useful neighborhood partnership tells customers who does what and how to take the next step. Agree on that information before printing both businesses’ names.

Choose the relationship before the printed item
A supplier display, a reciprocal referral and a community fundraiser have different participants and responsibilities. Calling all three “local partnerships” hides the decision the customer needs to make.
Saxapahaw General Store’s community page describes local makers, artists and nearby businesses. It is an example of a store connecting people with its surroundings, not evidence that every relationship uses paid referrals or that branded gifts improve sales.
Make the handoff between businesses explicit
Agree on the customer’s next action first: buy the maker’s goods in your shop, visit another venue, or contact a named organization about its service. Then confirm which party keeps the details current.
- Identity: use the partner’s agreed name and an accurate description of the relationship.
- Permission: obtain approval for the exact logo, image, wording and display context. A product supplier has not necessarily approved an endorsement campaign.
- Destination: check that the printed address, web link or contact route serves the promised task.
- Terms: where an offer exists, agree eligibility, dates, redemption and who answers questions before advertising it.
- Expiry: name a review date and the person who removes or replaces stale information.
Do not collect customer contact details for a partner simply because you display its card. Data sharing and outreach require their own appropriate arrangements; ordinary printed information can work without collecting anything.
A local-maker referral card with a limited promise
Illustrative arrangement: an independent grocery stocks a local maker’s sealed jam. It wants customers to find the maker’s separate workshop information.
Card wording: “Made by [approved maker name]. Find the current workshop schedule on the maker’s website: [verified address]. Ask our team where to find the jam stocked here.”
Internal record: maker approves its name and link; grocery approves the display location; each party checks the final proof. No workshop places, discount or joint sponsorship are promised.
This card separates the shop’s sale from the maker’s booking system. If the workshop is cancelled, customers still reach the party responsible for its schedule. A permanent “Workshop this Saturday” label would become obsolete quickly; a replaceable notice is a better place for that changing detail.
Read the draft as a newcomer. Can they tell what is available here and what requires another contact? If not, revise the relationship description before deciding the printing format.
Where printed supplies fit this decision
A configurable label may suit a stable maker attribution on an approved display surface. It is not a substitute for permission, ingredient information or the maker’s own required product labeling.
Compare custom stickers and labels only when the format and information task are clear.
Configurable product labels
Material, shape and size are configurable. Default quantity is one ordering unit; the package description refers to a sheet. Confirm labels per sheet and the selected configuration. Writable finish, removability, RFID and chemical or food-contact suitability are not established here.

Turn the answer into your next decision
Keep a partner register with approved wording, asset permission, destination, offer terms if any, review owner and end date. Publish only the agreed scope; a simple ordinary card can be enough while the arrangement is still being tested.
If that decision calls for an approved custom item, compare the configuration and design preview among custom products from DecentCustom. Keep existing suitable materials when they already do the job.
A related question
Does displaying a partner’s logo imply a joint offer?
It can create that impression. State the actual relationship and obtain approval for the exact display instead of letting customers infer an offer that has not been agreed.
